A number of Townsville City Council services may be impacted as industrial action continues this week.
Council respects the right of employees to take protected industrial action and remains committed to constructive negotiations. Council is working to minimise disruption to services.
Industrial action will include activity at Council's administrative building at 103 Walker Street tomorrow morning (Wednesday 6 August 2025). Residents who need to make payments in person should consider delaying their visit to Council's SERVE Centre to a later date or making their payment at the Citylibraries Riverway SERVE Centre.
Bin collections may be affected as waste crews are working at a limited capacity. If your bin is not collected on your usual bin collection day, please leave it on the kerb until it is collected.
Stuart Waste Facility and the Hervey Range Resource Recovery Centre will be closed on Wednesday. There may be disruptions to operating hours during the rest of the week if further industrial action is taken.
Magnetic Island Transfer Station will remain open for normal operating hours.
