Northern Territory Chief Health Officer Dr Hugh Heggie is undertaking a six week period of recreational leave, effective today, Thursday 22 April 2021.
During this time, Deputy Chief Health Officer, Dr Charles Pain, will be the Chief Health Officer.
Dr Heggie is taking leave after 16 months at the coalface of the Northern Territory's health response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
