Last Friday, three members of the Australian Psychological Society's (APS) Board of Directors, Dr Sara Quinn (President), Bianca Comfort (Vice President) and Tamara Cavenett, resigned their positions on the APS Board, effective Friday 26 September 2025. Each Director provided their own reasons.
At times, there have been healthy differences within the Board. It is these differences in opinion to the majority that led to their departures and the APS respects their choices.
The Board has appointed current Director Andrew Chua Acting President to ensure stability and continuity of governance, effective immediately.
"We are grateful for the time and energy Sara, Bianca and Tamara contributed during their time on the APS Board, and we respect their decision. We extend our best wishes to the departing Directors in their future endeavours," says Mr Chua.
APS services, programs and advocacy continue as usual. The Board has commenced the process to fill vacancies in line with the APS Constitution.
