On behalf of Yarra City Council, our thoughts are with the victims, their loved ones, and everyone affected by the shocking act of hatred at Bondi on Sunday night.
We also extend our condolences and thanks to NSW police, first responders and the Waverley Council.
Hannukah commemorates something all of us at Yarra value – and that is the enduring hope of a people to practise their faith freely. To our Jewish residents and visitors in Yarra who will be deeply impacted by this tragedy, I want to reaffirm that we stand with you. You should not have to live with fear.
During this festival of lights, as you gather with family and community, know that you are supported by your broader community in Yarra.
