Statement from Commission Chair, Nick Kaldas, Commissioner James Douglas and Commissioner Peggy Brown:
We acknowledge and welcome the response to the interim report recommendations by the Minister of Veterans' Affairs Matt Keogh and the government.
While there is still a long way to go in our inquiry, we are pleased that the majority of our recommendations have been accepted by the government.
We look forward to these issues being addressed promptly in the hope that it will help improve the lives of current and ex-serving Defence members and their families.
The Royal Commission will continue to engage with the government on the recommendations that relate to procedural matters affecting the inquiry.
