National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke by phone today with Pacific Island Country (PIC) ambassadors in Washington and New York. He underscored the Administration's commitment to expanding U.S. engagement in the Pacific, and the importance of continuing to deepen the relationship between the United States and the Pacific Islands. Mr. Sullivan and the PIC ambassadors discussed the importance of cooperation on issues of mutual concern such as combating climate change, addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, promoting sustainable fishing, and advancing maritime security.
