National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met with Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore today in Washington, DC. Mr. Sullivan and Mr. Shanmugaratnam discussed the importance of the U.S.-Singapore Strategic Partnership and reviewed opportunities to build on the momentum generated by Vice President Harris's August trip to Singapore. They discussed pressing regional issues, including the crisis in Burma, and global challenges such as climate change and energy affordability. They underscored that bold action is needed to end this pandemic and prepare for the next, agreeing on the importance of working with partners to strengthen global health security financing and establish a new financial intermediary fund.
