Statement on National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan's Meeting with Luhut Pandjaitan of Indonesia

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met today with Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan of Indonesia. Mr. Sullivan underscored the importance the Biden-Harris Administration places on our bilateral relationship with Indonesia, our engagement throughout Southeast Asia, and our efforts to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific. They discussed efforts to address the climate crisis, the situation in Burma, and other issues. They also discussed our work to end the pandemic and strengthen global health security to prevent future health emergencies. Mr. Sullivan reiterated that we will continue high-level engagement and cooperation with Indonesia and the region in support of a prosperous and stable Southeast Asia.
