Statement on resignation of ACCAN CEO Teresa Corbin

The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) would like to thank Teresa Corbin for her contribution to the scheme during her time as CEO of the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network (ACCAN).

Teresa played a key role in the development of the TIO, serving on both the TIO Board and Council from 2008 until her resignation 2017.

TIO Chair Michael Lavarch acknowledged Ms Corbin's part in improving the governance of the TIO scheme. "Teresa served on the TIO Council and Board for ten years, during which time she participated in the TIO's shift to a unitary governance model. This allowed for streamlined decision making and a sharper focus on the board's ability to administer the TIO scheme."

Ombudsman Judi Jones said, "During her time as CEO Teresa's commitment to telecommunications consumers has never wavered. Teresa's championing of consumer rights has meant consumers have had a representative voice at the telco table during a time of great transition and upheaval. I thank her for her contribution and wish her every success in her new role."
