I am saddened to hear of the passing of Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) Commissioner Emeritus Professor Cliff Walsh.
Professor Walsh has played an important role at TEQSA since 2014.
He enjoyed a long and distinguished academic career including at universities in Australia, the UK, Canada and the USA.
His commitment to public life also saw him serve as Principal Economics Adviser to Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser in the 1980s, as well as in roles with State Premiers, the Productivity Commission, the European Commission and the World Bank.
I extend my deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues.
