Station set for makeover

This weekend, our region's young people will help give a new look to 'The Station' hall building.

Horsham Youth Council recently ran a logo design competition to develop a design that will become the brand identity for The Station in Pynsent Street.

The winning design will come to life on the external wall of The Station in the coming days.

Horsham Youth Council has contracted an artist from 90 Degrees Artists for the production of the external wall's design.

Alongside participating young people, the artist will also develop an artwork for The Station's internal wall.

"Over the weekend, Dan from 90 Degrees Artists will be conducting an art technique workshop for the project participants, and they'll have the opportunity be involved with the production of the final designs," Youth Services Planning and Engagement Officer Annie Mintern said.

"We currently have a time capsule being crafted that we took submissions for towards the end of last year. When the wall designs are completed and the capsule is installed, we hope to celebrate with an official opening day," she said.

"The intention is to have created a multipurpose area for our region's youth, and we also hope to be open as a drop-in space on a trial basis in the coming months."

The Station, formerly known as Nexus, is the new home of youth services in Horsham.
