Stealing with violence at Greenslopes, QLD

Two teenage boys were seriously assaulted during an overnight robbery at Greenslopes, Queensland Police say.

Around midnight three teenage boys were walking outbound on Logan Road, near the intersection with Bardsley Road, when they were approached from behind by two men and demands made for property.

One of the teens managed to run off however the remaining boys, both aged 17, were assaulted with one being struck about the head several times with a handgun, causing lacerations to his forehead and ear, and the other stabbed twice in the back.

The men then stole personal property including a wallet, smart phone and a bag before fleeing on foot and possibly entering a dark coloured vehicle parked nearby.

Around 00:05am a passing police patrol spotted a blue sedan on Logan Road, near the intersection with Chatsworth Road. Police performed a u-turn in an attempt to intercept the vehicle however it could no longer be sighted and before police could proceed further they were flagged down by the injured teens.

Both boys were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The men are described as African in appearance, aged in their early 20s and wearing black baggy clothing with baseball caps and hoods covering the caps. One of the men was approximately 190cms tall and the other had short braided hair.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or noticed anything or anyone suspicious in the area at around the time is urged to contact police.
