Stealing with violence in Main Beach, QLD

Police are investigating a stealing with violence incident in Main Beach this evening which has left two people with facial injuries, Queensland Police say.

At 11.10pm, a group of people was talking in a car park at The Spit when ten vehicles arrived.

A man, who arrived in a utility, approached a 20-year-old man from the group and proceeded to assault him.

The 20-year-old attempted to run away, however, the man assaulted him again.

A 20-year-old woman tried to intervene, but the man then assaulted her.

She was also assaulted by females who had arrived in the contingent of vehicles.

During the assault, the woman’s car keys and mobile phone were stolen.

The offenders left the scene in their vehicles.

The man and woman both sustained facial injuries and were transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.

Investigations are continuing.
