Stealing with violence, Sunnybank and Algester

Three women were allegedly assaulted and robbed in separate incidents on Brisbane’s southside today with police intercepting a stolen vehicle at Underwood around 12.20pm and arresting four teenagers, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary information indicates a woman had her handbag stolen when a female passenger jumped out of a white sedan and grabbed it. This incident occurred around 10.45am on Compton Road at Sunnybank Hills. The woman was not physically injured.

Approximately 10 minutes later a woman was assaulted and robbed at a bus stop on Algester Road, Algester when a male passenger of a white car jumped out and grabbed her handbag. The woman was pushed to the ground. She was not physically injured but distressed by the incident.

A short time later a woman- who had just got off a bus- was assaulted and robbed on Pinelands Road, Sunnybank in similar circumstances. She was injured and transported to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

Four teenagers – two boys aged 17 and 15 and two girls aged 16 and 17- are currently assisting police with their investigations.

All three victims are believed to be aged in their 20s.

Police will allege the group were travelling around in a car stolen from Cannon Hill on Friday and also seen at a break and enter at Tarragindi later that day.

It will also be allege that a male teenager attempted to use a stolen credit card at an Underwood sporting store this afternoon.

There is no further information available at this time and police investigations are continuing.
