Steroid seizure arrest, Upper Coomera

Investigators from the Gold Coast Major and Organised Crime Squad (MOCS) seized a significant quantity of performance and image enhancing drugs yesterday.

A search warrant was executed at an Upper Coomera address and it will be alleged a significant quantity of steroids were located in various forms with an estimated value of $10,000.

A 40-year-old Upper Coomera man has been charged with possessing a dangerous drug, possessing a restricted drug, failure to dispose of a syringe, contravening an order about information necessary to access information stored electronically and stealing.

He is expected to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on April 26.

Gold Coast MOCS Detective Inspector Glen Donaldson said the use of steroids that have not been prescribed by a doctor not only poses a significant risk to your health, it is unlawful and can result in a criminal history for drug possession.

"Detectives from MOCS will continue to work with the Gold Coast officers to proactively target those involved in the illicit use and supply of dangerous drugs within our community," Detective Inspector Donaldson.
