Still time to step out for a cancer free future at Sunday Mail Bridge to Brisbane

The start line for The Sunday Mail is edging closer and closer, but that doesn't mean it's too late to register and make a difference with each step!

As an official VIP charity with The Sunday Mail Bridge, Cancer Council Queensland are encouraging locals to consider the impact they can make by taking part in the beloved race and fundraising for their work.

The Sunday Mail Bridge to Brisbane, held Sunday, August 25, will see around 30,000 people take part in a 5km or 10km fun run, touring some of Brisbane's most iconic landmarks.

Around 200 people have registered to join Team CCQ at the event.

Cancer Council Queensland CEO Ms Chris McMillan challenged more locals to get involved.

"We are extremely proud to partner with The Sunday Mail Bridge to Brisbane as one of their official charities of choice," Ms McMillan said.

"It's not too late to join Team CCQ at this iconic event and help support our vital work in cancer research, prevention and support."

Team CCQ is a fitness team founded as part of Cancer Council's Get Moving campaign - an initiative encouraging runners, gym-goers, and fitness enthusiasts across Queensland to lace up their joggers for the cause.

"At least one third of all cancer cases are preventable through healthy lifestyle choices, including being active and maintaining a healthy weight, so by joining Team CCQ at The Sunday Mail Bridge to Brisbane, you can be confident you are making a difference in the lives of local affected by cancer and boosting your own health and wellbeing too," Ms McMillan said.
