Stolen car charges, Mount Ommaney

Police have charged an 18-year-old Inala man following a stolen car incident in Mount Ommaney on December 3.

It will be alleged at approximately 2pm, police observed a red Honda HRV driving dangerously along Sandi Street in Oxley.

With assistance from the police helicopter, the vehicle was tracked for a period of time before being abandoned at a shopping centre carpark in Mount Ommaney, where the alleged occupant left on foot.

Following a short foot chase, an 18-year-old Inala man was taken into police custody inside the shopping centre complex.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man has been charged with one count each of attempted enter premises and commit, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of motor vehicle, dangerous operation of vehicle, and driving without a licence, and two counts of enter dwelling and commit.

He remains in custody and is due to re-appear at Richlands Magistrates Court on January 29, 2024.

It will be alleged the Honda was stolen from a Lichen Street property in Inala on November 30.
