Stolen car tracked by PolAir

Police are investigating after PolAir tracked a stolen car through the northern suburbs today.

At 11.10am Thursday 7 December police spotted a 2007 silver Toyota Hilux travelling along Newton Boulevard. Police checks revealed the car had been stolen from a Torrensville home overnight between Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 December.

Police attempted to stop the Hilux but it took off at speed away from patrols. Luckily PolAir was already in the area and was quickly overhead taking over observations of the car.

The ute travelled south on Peachy Road, then Curtis Road before turning south on the Northern Expressway, travelling to Waterloo Corner Road.

The Hilux was dumped on Goodall Crescent with four people seen running from the scene.

Patrols searched a nearby home; inside they located and arrested a 33-year-old Greenacres man. He is expected to be charged offences relating to the Hilux.

A 22-year-old Point Pearce man was also arrested inside for an unrelated matter.

Police searched the area but have been unable to locate the car's other occupants at this time. The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report on line at www.crimestopperssa.com.au – you can remain anonymous.
