Stolen cars spotted in western suburbs, SA

A boy has been arrested after two stolen cars were spotted in the western suburbs early this morning, according to SA Police.

At 1.07am, police spotted a stolen silver Holden Cruze and a white 2006 Toyota Camry driving in Owen Street in Woodville North.

The Toyota was pursued by police through backstreets to Port Road in Cheltenham, where the pursuit was terminated by police for safety reasons. It was last seen heading south on Findon road. The white 2006 Toyota Camry with registration XPJ851 is still outstanding and anyone who spots the car should call police on 131 444.

At 1.35am, police spotted the Holden Cruze on Allenby road at Ottoway.

The car was tracked with the assistance of Polair to Erin Court in Gulfview Heights where it was dumped and the occupants ran from the scene. With guidance from the police helicopter and assistance from police dog Ink, a teenage boy was found hiding in the rear yard of a house in Santiago Court.

The 14-year-old from Gilles Plains was arrested for illegal use, failing to identify the driver and unlawfully on premises.

He has been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth youth court on Monday.

Further checks revealed the Holden Cruze had been stolen just after midnight on Thursday 2 June from Angle Park, while the Toyota Camry was taken from Woodville North on Friday evening.
