Stolen Cash And Jewellery Charges, West Mackay

Police have charged a woman following a series of break and enters across Mackay throughout September.

It will be alleged between 7.45am and 1pm on 16 September, the woman unlawfully entered the home of a 92-year-old woman, who was not known to her, and has stolen a large amount of cash and jewellery.

On 18 September, Police executed a search warrant at a Bridge Road address and recovered around $50,000 worth of jewellery.

A 21-year-old West Mackay woman has been charged with 17 offences, including break and enter, theft, fraud and possession of dangerous drugs.

She is due to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court today, 19 September.

Police are appealing for any information from the public as a number of expensive rings and a large sum of cash still remains outstanding.

Investigations are ongoing.
