Stolen dog reunited with owner; man charged - Hurlstone Park

A man has been charged after allegedly stealing a dog in Sydney's Inner West at the weekend.

Just before 5pm on Saturday (29 August 2020), 10-year-old Jack Russell 'Jake' disappeared from outside a supermarket on Crinan Street, Hurlstone Park.

His owner, a 51-year-old man, notified officers from Burwood Police Area Command who commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a home on George Street, Sydenham, and located 'Jake' about 7.30pm yesterday (Sunday 30 August 2020).

A 53-year-old man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for steal dog and is due to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday 5 October 2020.

'Jake' has since been reunited with his owner.
