Stolen property recovered at Sunshine Coast

A man has been charged following investigations into a number of alleged property offences across the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

The 35-year-old man was taken into custody yesterday after officers came across a campsite at Eumundi.

The man attempted to flee first in a vehicle before a short foot chase with officers where the man jumped into a dam.

Officers waded through water to reach the man before he was taken into custody without incident.

It will be allege the man forced entry to several properties at Eumundi and Eerwah Vale last month before stealing a number of items.

He has been charged with burglary, enter premises, wilful damage, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, bringing stolen goods into Queensland, possessing dangerous drugs and possess utensils.

The man is expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court this morning.
