Stolen SUV Linked To Munno Para Home Invasion

A stolen Hyundai Tucson has been linked to a crime series last month, including a home invasion at Munno Para.

The white Hyundai Tucson, registration S500BRG, was stolen from a Munno Para house at 1am on 17 February.

At 2am, the stolen car was used in a petrol drive-off on Main North Road, Smithfield.

Then just before 3am, police were called to Stebonheath Road, Munno Para after a group of men armed with various weapons, including a firearm, had forced their way into a home. At least two shots were fired during the incident but fortunately there were no serious injuries reported.

Investigations and CCTV inquiries revealed what appears to be a white Hyundai Tucson similar to the stolen car in the vicinity at the time of the home invasion.

The stolen SUV was recovered on Barr Street, Elizabeth Downs on 20 February.

Police believe the suspects and stolen vehicle may be linked to other crimes at that time and ask anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au
