Stolen Vehicle Arrest, Oxenford

Police have arrested an 18-year-old man, a 14-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl after a stolen vehicle was intercepted at Oxenford this morning, 27 March.

Around 7.42am police received a report of a silver Mitsubishi Outlander allegedly driving erratically southbound along the M1 at Helensvale near the Helensvale north off ramp.

The vehicle took the Hope Island exit and travelled along Hope Island Road onto Helensvale Road towards the M1 before heading back towards Oxenford where a tyre deflation device was successfully utilised near Heathwood Drive.

The vehicle continued along Maudsland Road before coming to a stop on the side of the road due to the damaged tyres.

A member of the public stopped to render assistance, when it is alleged the boy produced a knife and attempted to steal the man's vehicle. When the male driver got out of the vehicle it rolled back into a vehicle behind.

Police quickly arrived taking all three into custody at 8.44am.

The Mitsubishi Outlander vehicle had been stolen from an address in Ripley in the early hours of this morning.

Investigations are continuing into the full circumstances of the incident.
