Police have charged a woman following the theft of a vehicle in Townsville City last night, 27 August.
It will be alleged that around 6.10pm, the woman stole a white Volkswagen Jetta which was parked on Sturt Street.
It will be further alleged she drove the car to Charters Towers before crashing into a green Holden Barina at the intersection of Dalrymple Road and Hackett Terrace, Richmond Hill at 7.20pm.
The driver of the Holden, a 70-year-old woman, and a passenger, a 4-year-old boy, were transported to Townsville University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police attended the scene short time later and took a 25-year-old Kelso woman into custody.
She was also transported to Townsville University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
She has since been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
She is expected to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today, 28 August.
