Stolen Vehicle Charges, Coomera

Four teenagers have been charged after a stolen vehicle crash in Coomera overnight.

It will be alleged at approximately 10pm a stolen Volkswagen Amarok was travelling at speed southbound on the Pacific Motorway (M1) when it has struck a Kia Carnival near the Hope Island Road onramp. The Amarok has then collided with an Opal sedan and both vehicles have rolled, and four teenagers fled on foot from the Amarok.

Three of the teenagers were located nearby a short time later, and a fourth teenager was tracked by a dog squad unit and arrested just before 11pm.

A 14-year-old Redbank Plains boy has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, enter dwelling and commit, receiving tainted property and possession of drug utensil (glass pipe).

An 18-year-old Basin Pocket man, a 17-year-old Goodna boy and a 15-year-old Yamanto boy have each been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The three boys will appear in the Southport Childrens Court on Tuesday 7 October and the man will appear before the Southport Magistrates Court on the same day.

It will be further alleged the Amarok was stolen on Friday night from an Ormeau Hills house.

The male driver and female passenger travelling in the Opel were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The male driver and three passengers in the Kia Carnival were not physically injured.
