Stolen Vehicle Charges, Surfers Paradise 23 September

Gold Coast police have charged three teenagers following an alleged break and enter early this morning, 23 September.

Around 4.15am, the offenders allegedly gained entry into a Sunset Boulevard home and, once inside, stole keys to a white Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG before leaving in the vehicle.

Tracking technology fitted to the car enabled police to monitor its movements across the Gold Coast, including through Helensvale, Main Beach and Surfers Paradise.

At approximately 6.10am, police successfully disabled the Mercedes-Benz using technology linked to the vehicle on Riverview Terrace in Surfers Paradise. Three teenagers were taken into custody without further incident.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a knife inside the vehicle.

A 15-year-old Coomera boy, a 16-year-old Mermaid Beach boy and a 17-year-old Nerang boy have each been charged with one count of enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and receiving tainted property.

They are due to appear before Southport Magistrates Court today, 23 September.

Investigations are continuing.
