Stolen Vehicle Charges - Yarrawonga

Northern Territory Police have arrested three people after the theft of three cars from a property in Yarrawonga.

It is alleged that late on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning six people entered a business at Yarrawonga. The offenders stole the cars during that period, driving one of them through the gates of the business causing significant damage to the property and the vehicle.

Later that morning police recovered a Toyota Rav 4 in Ludmilla, a Toyota Hilux in Berrimah and a Holden Commodore in Yarrawonga.

Three people were arrested in relation to the matter.

A 14-year-old female from Batchelor was arrested at Berrimah after fleeing into bushland. She was released for youth diversion while two 19-year-old were charged with a number of offences.

The 19-year-old male from Minyeri was also arrested in Berrimah and later charged with:

  • Criminal Damage
  • Unlawful Entry
  • Stealing
  • Unlawful Use Motor Vehicle
  • Drive Unlicensed
  • Possess Dangerous Drug – traffickable quantity x2
  • Possess Dangerous Drug
  • Drink driving (medium range)
  • Drug driving

The 19-year-old from Bagot was charged with:

  • Criminal Damage
  • Unlawful Entry
  • Stealing
  • Unlawful Use Motor Vehicle x2
  • Drive Unlicensed, as well as
  • Drink driving (low range)
  • Drug driving

One of the men was remanded in custody to appear in court today, while the other was given bail to appear in the Darwin Local court on 25 January 2019.
