Stop, Reflect and Remember

On Remembrance Day, Wednesday 11 November, the South Australian Parliament will commence sitting at 2pm, out of respect for those who fought for our freedom.

Parliament will commence at 2pm with Question Time and Grieves, then Private Members Business will commence after Grieves.

Remembrance Day is a day where our nation will pause to honour the courage, service and sacrifice made by our fellow Australians.

Over 60,000 Australians died fighting for our freedom, including more than five and a half thousand South Australians. They were ordinary men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving our nation.

I urge all South Australians to take the time to pause and reflect on the many thousands of people who have lost their lives or been injured in all wars and peacekeeping operations.

May we never lose sight of our past and those who have given us the freedoms of today.

Lest we forget.
