Storm Update - Howlong

Council-update-web-tile.jpg

Council is continuing to assess damage and clean several roadways, public areas and footpaths following Wednesday night's storm event in Howlong. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we progress priority areas and work through the extensive clean up effort underway. The community spirit shown to one another during this time has been nothing short of outstanding. Whilst out in the field we have seen many residents helping one another clean up at their private properties and have also been inundated with offers of assistance. What a great community we live in!

We understand that for many residents the next step will be the disposal of their storm damaged green waste.

Our Waste Centres at Corowa and Howlong will be open on Sunday at the following times:

  • Corowa : 1pm - 4pm
  • Howlong: 9am - 12 noon.

During the above times there will be no charge for green waste removal. For those residents unable to dispose of their storm damaged green waste on Sunday, both Waste Centre's in Corowa and Howlong will be accepting green waste free of charge on Tuesday next week.

Please ensure your green waste loads are not contaminated with other waste items. Find further information on our Waste Management Centre's.
