While the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic imposes a pause on Sunshine Coast Council's planned Place2Play creative public activations in Caloundra, the participating artists have once again put their creativity to the test and will Keep on Playing in the digital space.
The Place2Play project was designed to enliven the streets and laneways of Caloundra, as part of Place2, a creative placemaking project for Caloundra.
Division 2 councillor Terry Landsberg said this unusual time had inspired diverse responses from the creative sector.
"Our Place2Play artists have demonstrated wonderful agility and depth in the way they have extended and kept the conversation going by taking their remarkable projects online," Cr Landsberg said.
"As the new divisional councillor for Caloundra I'm thrilled to see such a vibrant and creative project continue, and while it would have been great to see the activations in the streets and laneways, we can all still enjoy the project online."

Beats x Caloundra with Ashleigh Musk and Michael Smith: invites the community to give the artists an instruction and in return they will give them their heart. In the form of a bespoke postcard, recording their cardiogram (heartbeat), an image of place and their written reflections.
From late May
Street Love by Kellie O'Dempsey: Get creative at home by decorating your own unique mask. Choose the wondrous artwork of Adam Anderson or Sophie Reid-Singer (or choose both). In time to come, when national public health directions allow it, why not wear your mask to the live Street Love event.
Early June
Samantha Taylor and Penny Gale's PIVOT: investigates how we re-engage when we must be physically distant? Step into something different with their portals – virtual connections back to each other's domestic space. Build your own portal – home creative-friendly instructions provided.
Late June
BirdCall by Corrie Wright: invites community responses to her pertinent questions regarding these uncertain times to be collated into a non-linear story of everyday wonderings.
Early July
Kevin McMahon with Capital Nuf: summons upcycled word art which will become part of an online art collection and be presented as part of a Caloundra street activation later this year.
May and July
Place to rest, every day protest by creative collaboration MiFi: An absurd re-imagining of day-to-day living with precautionary measures.
When restrictions are lifted and government guidelines permit, council will bring Place2Play back to the public spaces of Caloundra with playful and interactive events.
