Street trees destroyed

Senseless vandalism has seen six advanced street trees destroyed in Hamilton Street, Broadford.

Council has undertaken an extensive street planting program across the shire, with more than 130 trees planted to beautify localities.

The Crepe Myrtles were semi-mature stock being around two years old when planted.

Crepe Myrtles are an versatile tree that have strong spring growth, flowers from January through until March and have colourful autumn foliage.

The vandalism has been reported to police.
