Strike Force Tenisonwood established to probe the deaths of a woman and man in Newtown

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of a woman and man in Newtown yesterday, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to a unit on King Street, Newtown, about 5.30pm (Friday 12 January 2018), following concerns for the welfare of a man and woman.

Police attended and discovered the bodies of a woman, aged in her 20’s, and a man, aged in his 30’s.

Strike Force Tenisonwood has been established, consisting of officers attached to Newtown Local Area Command, with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Detectives are seeking anyone with information that hasn’t spoken with police to come forward.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
