At approximatley 1.25am on Saturday the 22 September 2018, the Tasmania Fire Service was called to attend a structure fire at 47a Bridge Street, Richmond. The structure is the Colonial Bridge Cottage Accommodation consisting of two co-joined cottages, Tasmania Police say.
Upon arrival smoke was observed coming from the roof of the structure. Tasmania Fire Service members quickly extinguished a small fire in the roof cavity.
The cause of the fire at this stage has yet to be determined and as a result has been treated as suspicious.
Tasmania Police would like to hear from any persons who may have been in the area at the time of the fire.
