Student arrested after incident at western suburbs school, South Australia

A student has been arrested following an incident at a school in the western suburbs.

Just after 10am on Wednesday 20 March, patrols were called to the school after reports of a student being in possession of a knife.

Police will allege the student was being escorted from the school grounds by staff when he pulled up his top revealing a knife. The student then left and patrols were quickly on scene locating him nearby.

The 14-year-old from the northern suburbs has been taken to the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital for a mental health assessment.

Investigations are continuing and it is believed no staff or students were threatened or physically injured.
