Hampden P-12 School Middle Years students' talents are on show in a travelling exhibition coming to venues around Corangamite Shire.
The touring show opened at the Cobden Visitor Information Centre Gallery on Tuesday 26 August. Timboon library will be the second destination as it travels around the Shire at roughly two-week intervals.
There are 20 paintings and 15 small images of some of the students.
Council's Positive Ageing Access and Inclusion Team raised the idea with teachers and students, and Art Teacher Natasha Togni came up with the theme "Paint Your Shire" to give the students a focus.
"The students enjoyed the opportunity to paint a subject matter that had personal significance. Our students live in different areas of the Corangamite Shire, so it was great to get an insight into their favourite landmarks and locations," Ms Togni said.
"Every work has a unique personal perspective and highlights the student's abilities and talents, and I'm excited that people, beyond our school community, will be able to appreciate this."
"I wanted to expand upon the collaboration that the Shire commenced with the school last year," Rural Access Officer Patrick Caruana said.
"Last year the Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) students created the waste bins education video which is on the Shire's YouTube page and the years 7 to 9 did posters advertising The International Day of Persons With A Disability.
"The VPC year are doing a new video on Accessibility in the Shire and the Middle Years students will do another poster creation event for the end of the year.
"In October, during seniors week, we will be having an intergenerational event called 'Paint and Chat' with 10 student and 10 seniors.
"The students are really engaged and excited by doing this and feel like they are contributing to the area that they live in."
