Sudan-born Man Charged With Visa Breaches In Victoria 20 May

A Sudan-born man is expected to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court today (20 May, 2025) charged with allegedly failing to comply with his visa-mandated conditions.  

The AFP charged the man, 32, after he was located today (20 May, 2025) in Melbourne.  

He has been charged with two counts of failing to remain at a notified address, contrary to section 76C(1) of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth).

This offence carries a maximum penalty of five years' imprisonment and/or a $93,900 fine.
