Sudden Death Investigation, Broadbeach

Burleigh Criminal Investigation Branch detectives are investigating a unit fire at a complex in Broadbeach today, 30 May.

Around 11am, police and emergency services were called to an address on Surf Parade following reports of smoke coming from a unit.

Upon arrival, the unit was fully engulfed, and the fire was extinguished a short time later.

During a search of the location a person was located.

CPR was immediately performed however the person was declared deceased a short time later.

No other injuries have been reported.

A crime scene was declared and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fire are ongoing.

Anyone with vision or information relating to the incident is urged to contact police.
