The Crisafulli Government is taking Community Cabinet to Mackay, delivering a fresh start for regional Queensland.

Premier David Crisafulli, Ministers, and senior government officials will meet with Mackay residents, business owners, and community groups to listen, share ideas, and focus on the priorities that matter most to the region.

Hosting Community Cabinet in Mackay is allowing the Crisafulli Government to understand the local issues and concerns in the community, and importantly, drive solutions and change.

Attendees will also hear about the Crisafulli Government's commitment to tackling key priorities, delivering the right plan for Queensland's future and delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy.

Expressions of interest are now open for community members wishing to attend an afternoon tea with the Cabinet and/or request a deputation meeting with a Minister to discuss a specific issue.

After a decade of decline under the former Labor Government, Mackay is finally getting the voice they deserve under the Crisafulli Government, with:

  • More frontline police to improve community safety and reduce crime;

  • Health upgrades and new facilities to improve access to care;

  • More social and affordable homes to help Queenslanders into housing;

  • Support for small business and job creation to grow the regional economy;

  • Investment in infrastructure and industry to secure long-term prosperity for Mackay and the Whitsundays.

Premier David Crisafulli said his team was supporting residents and businesses across the Mackay region.

"It's important we visit Mackay to listen, engage, and share ideas with the community, especially to hear their concerns," Premier Crisafulli said.

"We're committed to ensuring the needs of the Mackay community are not only met but are exceeded, particularly on issues relating to crime, health, housing, and cost of living."

Member for Mackay Nigel Dalton said Community Cabinet was an important opportunity for the region to highlight its priorities and encouraged locals to be part of the conversation.

"I look forward to seeing as many locals as possible take this opportunity to attend and have their voices heard on the issues that matter most to them and their families," Mr Dalton said.

"The Crisafulli Government is looking forward to working together to make Mackay an even better place for future generations."

Previous Community Cabinets have been held this year in Cairns, Townsville, and Emerald.

Applications are now open for residents to attend the Community Cabinet afternoon tea or request a meeting with a Minister to discuss local issues and priorities.
