Port Stephens Council is hosting a series of community support hubs to help residents navigate recovery following the recent natural disaster.
These pop-up hubs are designed to give people a space to access practical support, ask questions, share their experiences, and find the information they need to get back on their feet.
Mayor Leah Anderson said the hubs are an important part of Council's ongoing recovery efforts.
"We know many in our community are still feeling the impacts of the disaster – whether it's dealing with property damage, lost items, or just needing someone to talk to," Mayor Anderson said.
"Our community support hubs bring Council staff and services directly to the people who need them. Whether you need help lodging a request with Council, understanding where to access support or how to dispose of flood-affected waste, we're here to help," she added.
At each hub, Council staff will help connect residents to information on disaster recovery support, provide guidance on financial assistance, and offer advice on waste management and clean-up options.
Importantly, the hubs also offer a space for residents to share their stories and connect with others in their community who may be going through similar experiences.
"Sometimes just being heard can make a big difference. We want people to know they're not alone in this," Mayor Anderson said.
The Community Support Hubs will be held at:
- Tilligerry: Tanilba Bay Shopping Centre near Coles on Friday, 30 May, from 10am to 12 noon
- Seaham: near the Community Hall on Sunday, 1 June, 9 to 11am
- Hinton: near Hinton Pub on Sunday, 1 June, 9 to 11am
More details of upcoming hub locations, dates, and times are available on Council's website or by contacting our Customer Service team.
