Supporting Community Groups and the Economy

More grants are rolling out the door to more local community organisations since the Territory Labor Government made minor CBF grants available all year and increased them from $10,000 to $15,000.

The recent changes expanded the Community Benefit Fund to provide greater certainty and streamline the process for Territory community organisations. These grants not only support our community groups, but help provide a boost to the economy.

The latest recipients of the new and improved CBF minor grants include:

  • $15,000 to the Darwin Chorale association to assist the organisation to purchase new microphones, headsets and equipment.
  • $5,349 for the Federal Cricket Club of Alice Springs, to assist the organisation with their junior cricket participation project, and;
  • $13,245 for the Jingili BMX club to allow for the resurfacing of the BMX track.

Comments from Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Natasha Fyles:

The Territory Labor Government backs our community organisations, who do an excellent job delivering quality programs and events for Territorians.

The faster we can assess applications, the faster these valuable grants are put to use in the community.

Now that the minor grants are available all year round, I encourage any and all community organisations to apply for up to $15,000 in funding.
