One person has been taken into custody following an incident on Lamorna Road in Parklands, Christchurch this evening.
Emergency services were called at 7.50pm, after reports a person had sustained critical injuries.
Police are working to establish exactly what has taken place and at this stage there is no further information available.
While Lamorna Road residents will see an ongoing police presence in the area overnight as we continue our enquiries, we want to reassure them there is no risk to the wider community.
