Suspected drug lab located at Loganholme, QLD

A man has been charged following investigations into the discovery of an alleged suspected drug lab after a fire in a building at Loganholme this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 6am, police and other emergency services were called to an industrial estate in Chetwynd Street after reports of a fire inside the upper level of a shed.

The fire was extinguished with substantial damage sustained to the building.

Upon further investigation, an alleged suspected hydroponic drug lab with two growing rooms containing a number of cannabis plants of varying sizes was discovered.

A crime scene has been established with officers expected to remain at the scene until tomorrow.

A 61-year-old Cornubia man has been charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and stealing.

He is expected to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 28.
