Suspicious Fire Investigation, Toowoomba City

A 28-year-old man is assisting police with their investigations into a suspicious building fire in Toowoomba City earlier this morning 19 March.

Around 1.24am police and emergency services were called to a James Street address after receiving reports a building was on fire.

The building which was unoccupied at the time sustained significant structural damage.

The fire was extinguished and a crime scene declared.

There were no reports of injuries.

Following initial investigations police located a 28-year-old man at a Toowoomba City address around 5am this morning.

He is currently assisting police with their enquires.

Police are appealing for anyone with any relevant information, dashcam or vision that could assist to come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
