Suspicious vehicle fire, Dutton Park

Police have declared a crime scene at a Dutton Park unit complex after seven cars were destroyed in a fire.

Emergency services were called to the Gladstone Road complex just after 11pm.

Preliminary investigations indicate one vehicle has been deliberately set alight in the carport area of the complex and the fire has spread to six other vehicles parked in the carport. A further four vehicles were damaged by heat from the fire.

Residents were evacuated from the complex and a neighbouring complex as a precaution however no one was injured in the fire.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or was travelling on Gladstone Road around 11pm with dashcam vision to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
