Sussex Inlet celebrates facelift and new artwork

Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley officially opened the Sussex Inlet streetscape on Saturday, 13 July.

Council hosted a street party style celebration in collaboration with the Sussex Inlet Community Forum to celebrate the official completion of the works.

Mayor Findley said the $500,000 upgrade to the Sussex Inlet CBD is a great asset for the community and gives a new appeal to the coastal town.

"The new facelift for Sussex Inlet is a great addition to this amazing township and I would like to thank the Sussex Inlet community for their great collaboration during the design phase and their patience during the construction period," said Clr Findley.

"The new upgrade consists of footpaths, street furnishings and footpath verge plantings improving the overall aesthetics of the village.

"A raised pedestrian crossing was also constructed to improve foot traffic in the community and a new mural created in Peace Park to celebrate the community collaboration involved in the project."

"I encourage anyone looking for the next day trip around the Shoalhaven to venture to Sussex Inlet and how great this streetscape looks."
