Sustainable Agriculture Small Grants Now Open

Applications are now open for Clarence Valley Council's Sustainable Agriculture Small Grants program, which supports local farmers to adopt land management practices that benefit not only their farms but also the wider community and natural environment.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available for eligible projects. The program encourages collaboration with primary producers to adopt improved land management techniques, strengthen knowledge and skills in natural resource management and sustainable farming, and enhance on-farm biodiversity, water quality, and soil health.

Clarence Valley Mayor Ray Smith praises the grants and encourages all local farmers to apply.

" This is an excellent opportunity for our local farmers to receive financial assistance for projects they may have delayed because of economic difficulties.

"With the ongoing need to repair fencing and other infrastructure and the constant fight against weeds and pests, I'm grateful this grant is available to help.

"I urge all our local farmers to review the guidelines and the various activities that are eligible for funding and to submit their applications!"

Applications for the 2026-2027 grant round are now open until 5:00pm, 31 March 2026. Successful applicants will be publicly announced at the beginning of each new financial year. All grant funds must be fully expended by the end of the financial year in which they are awarded.
