SUV and credit card stolen in Carlton burglary

Melbourne North Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary in Carlton earlier this month, Victoria Police say.

Police believe an offender entered a commercial office building on Swanston Street near Cardigan Terrace about 10.30am on Tuesday 7 March.

While inside, the offender gained access to an unattended office and stole the victim’s handbag containing car keys, a credit card, cash and a mobile phone.

The offender then located the victim’s black 2016 Ford Kuga SUV, registration 1GY3VE, in the rear carpark of the address and fled the scene in the car.

A short time later, the victim’s stolen credit card was used in a number of transactions at a shopping centre on Docklands Drive, Docklands.

The offender is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance with a thin build and brown hair.

He was wearing a black cardigan, blue tracksuit pants, runners and a white cap with black-coloured branding.

Police have released CCTV and images of a person who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
