Swimming pool leap leads to arrest, NSW

A man will face court today after an alleged aggravated break and enter at Adamstown Heights today, NSW Police say.

It is alleged that about 7.20pm a man, armed with a large hook, forced his way into the Lexington Parade home.

Police were told the man threatened two teenage boys, aged 13 and 16 in the home. One of them was able to dial Triple Zero (000) and raise the alarm.

The man ran from the premises and across a number of rooftops before jumping into into a swimming pool.

Police from Newcastle City Local Area Command arrested a 26-year-old man.

He was taken to Newcastle City Police Station and charged with aggravated enter dwelling armed with intent, assault, carry cutting implement, drug possession, larceny and trespassing

The Raymond Terrace man was refused bail and will appear in Newcastle Local court today.
