Sydney CBD assault, man charged, NSW

A man has been charged with the alleged assault of his partner in a fast food restaurant in the Sydney CBD this morning, NSW Police say.

About 1:45am tomorrow, emergency services were called to Pitt Street, Sydney, where they found a 21-year-old woman, from Glendenning, had allegedly been punched several times.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and taken to Sydney Eye Hospital where she has been treated for extensive bruising.

A 22-year-old man, also from Glendenning, was arrested at the scene and taken to Day Street Police Station.

He has been charged with one count of assault and was granted conditional bail to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 30 December 2016.
